Dear patients and clients:
Let me first say that I truly believe we will be okay through this challenge. We still have a fight ahead of all of us but we have, as a nation, always persevered. We will again this time.
A few things to review. Most of us know that the evaluation and treatment of anyone suspected of having contracted the Coronavirus need to immediately begin a quarantining at home. Do not go directly to the ER, an urgent care center, your personal doctor or an OCCMed facility; these medical practices are not able to test or treat you for the coronavirus. The proper approach is to call the numbers below to be evaluated by phone. You will then be directed as to where to go/what to do.
The numbers to call:
West Central Health District Coronavirus Hotline: 1-855-962-0955
Muscogee County Health Department: 706-321-6300
Mercy Med: 706-507-9209
Piedmont Infection Control: 1-866-460-1119
There is a tremendous amount of information circulating about the Coronavirus. Some of the information is very useful and some of the information is not accurate and is very misleading. One of the best sources of information continues to be on the CDC’s website at cdc.gov/coronavirus.
The following is a useful chart from the World Health Organization to help differentiate four different conditions with similar symptoms. However, if you have any questions, call the above-listed numbers.
