Dr. Sherrer received his B.S. degree from Auburn University and his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed the Family Practice Residency Program at The Medical Center, Columbus, Georgia and was Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice. After his residency, he stayed in Columbus and opened his occupational medicine practice in 1987.
Dr. Sherrer is a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO) through the Medical Review Officer Certification Council and is a DOT-certified examination physician through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Dr. Sherrer is licensed to practice medicine in both Georgia and Alabama.
Dr. Sherrer grew up in Prattville, Alabama before his family moved to Augusta, Georgia where they spent the next 20 years. He moved to Columbus, Georgia for his residency and has maintained his occupational medicine practice here since. He has been married to his wife Brenda for 27 years and they have four children.
